De tus ruinas haremos nuevas formas
“From your ruins we will make new forms puts the word and image of a language into play to highlight new symbols that emerge from an exercise in self-consolation and resilience during the quarantine. Guadalupe Salgado uses embroidery and assembly to expand the drawing to different ways of inhabiting the space in rugs that superimpose soft and familiar images with the shapes of their environment. These are rugs that not only collect footprints and dust, but are decoration and protection of the artist's time and privacy: a way of learning to live with stains and tragedy.”
